Prelude:

Greetings in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!!!

 

First of all, I thank and adore the Almighty God who has enabled me to prepare the study on the Epistle of Paul to Philemon, which has many valuable teachings for all the believers to Forgive, Reconcile, and Love amidst treachery. It will surely help every believer to have the love of Christ, and thereby motivate us to love others as ourselves in the midst of their mistakes towards us personally and generally.

 

Paul says to Timothy, “Train yourself to be Godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:7, 8). We have a lot of Learning in every area of our life, but all that learning would be vain without Godly values in life. Educational training, Industrial training, physical training, and all will be of only some value to some extent. Training ourselves to be Godly endures now and forever. Surely the ‘Study of the Epistle to the Philemon’, as that of any book of the Bible, will give new insights to train ourselves to be Godly by stimulating our thinking with knowledge, analysing the facts, and applying the values or teachings by relating them to our own lives.

 

I always remind myself of what I had written about the Bible for myself,  

"Beautiful, Best, and Believable Book for me forever is 'BIBLE'. I Believe it's a Big and Bountiful manual for me from Majesty as a manual for the machine from the Manufacturer. It's because Man's Mind always Muddle and Fiddle but BIBLE always Manifest all Folding."   

 

It is always worthwhile and beneficial to spend time in analyzing and studying the scripture to act according to it, as there is nothing else that is more approaching for all of us than to fear God and keep all his commandments. Enjoy the time, treasure, and talents in Immortal God through God’s word and for Fellow humans.

PRAYERS AND APPRECIATION (PHM 1: 4-7)

PRAYERS AND APPRECIATION (PHM 1: 4-7): Paul writes that he thanks his God always when he remembers Philemon and those who are with them in his prayers because he hears of their love and of the faith that they have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints. He prays that the sharing of their faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in them for the sake of Christ. The fellowship in Philemon’s house was good with the genuine love towards the Lord Jesus as well as with one another, and it was also trustworthy towards one another because of the faith in the Lord Jesus. Paul praises God continuously for them whenever he remembers them, because of their genuineness and kindness, as well as their faith in Christ. Paul also prays for them that when they acknowledge and proclaim the gospel of Christ and their testimony of faith, it shall be productive, bearing fruit, for they have the required complete knowledge for everyone to know and follow what is go...

REQUEST FOR ACCEPTING ONESIMUS AS A BROTHER (PHM 1: 15-18)

REQUEST FOR ACCEPTING ONESIMUS AS A BROTHER (PHM 1: 15-18): Paul then confirms to Philemon that perhaps Onesimus was parted from him for a while, that he might have him back forever, no longer as a bondservant but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother, especially to himself, but how much more to him, both in the flesh and in the Lord. Paul looks at the positive side of the separation of Philemon and Onesimus and conveys that a short-term separation had paved the way to meet him and know the Lord, thereby being useful forever after his return. Before Onesimus was a slave who was bonded to the master as per their regulations without any independence. Paul suggests Philemon look at him no longer as a bondservant but as a beloved brother, being the children of God together.
